Scheme Overview
The British Industry Supercharger, also referred to in the Energy Intensive Industries context, supports qualifying energy-intensive and trade-exposed industries.
Support can include exemptions from specified policy costs, including RO, FiT and CfD, and network-charge compensation, subject to the scheme’s eligibility rules.
Important: Supercharger and BICS overlap
Supercharger/EII relief cannot be duplicated on the same electricity as the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme (BICS). If a site qualifies for the Supercharger, it supersedes BICS for that consumption.
